The project “INCLUSION FOR GREEN WORLD”
Impacts of climate change on persons with disabilities:
Climate change seriously affects people's lives as well as the environment. The fight against climate change and the protection of human rights are closely related to each other within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals set by the UN until 2030. Human rights are seriously undermined by the impacts of climate change in key areas such as food security, water supply, health and living conditions. The Paris Climate Agreement (2015), the UN's main framework document in the field of combating climate change, also emphasizes the protection of human rights.

Related topics provide an important opportunity to deepen our understanding of the links between climate change and human rights. Climate change, global warming and an increase in extreme weather situations lead to many human rights violations. These effects tend to have greater consequences in the most vulnerable societies.

The impacts of climate change disproportionately affect people with disabilities. It violates the rights of persons with disabilities, including food and nutrition, safe drinking water and sanitation, health services, medicine, education and training, adequate housing, and access to decent work

The project “INCLUSION FOR GREEN WORLD”
Objectives of the project:
 Promotion of the agenda on the negative impact of climate change on the worldwide increase of disability and the independent lifestyle of people with disabilities within the framework of COP29 on climate change and subsequent COP events;
 Ensuring greater participation of persons with disabilities and their organizations in COP events on climate action and improving accessibility of COP events on climate change for them.
The project is dedicated to expanding international initiatives and cooperation to mainstream disability issues and promote greater participation of persons with disabilities and their organizations in the COP events on climate action. For this purpose, it is planned to create a coalition between the organizations of persons with disabilities in Azerbaijan and foreign countries within the framework of the project's activities. The coalition to be created, in turn, is planned to join international cooperation platforms created by international organizations operating in the field of disability.
Our calls with regards to the representation at COP29!
Research by organizations operating in the field of disability shows that the impact of climate change on the occurrence of diseases and disabilities among people is increasing. The increase in temperature, increase in natural disaster events, increase
in magnetic waves and radiation from the sun and other anomalies create these problems in people's lives.

Taking this into account, more place should be given to this issue in the COP events and we call for increasing the level of participation of persons with disabilities and organizations of persons with disabilities in the organized events!
