
Baku, Azerbaijan – The Disabled Women Society Public Union, with the support of the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women, has been implementing the project “Improving Access of Women and Girls with Disabilities to Public Services in Baku, Ganja, and the Guba–Khachmaz Region” covering the years 2022–2025. The project aims to ensure barrier-free access of women and girls with disabilities tosocial services at the state and municipal levels, to reduce risks of violence, and to strengthen their protection mechanisms. Over the past three years, a number of activities have been successfully carried out in Baku, Ganja, and the Guba–Khachmaz region in close cooperation with local executive authorities and state institutions. The support and enabling policies of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan have played a significant role in the implementation of the project. In the final stage of the project, during August 2025, regional public hearings and roundtable discussions will be organized in Lankaran, Ganja, Goygol, Aghstafa, Gazakh, and Guba. These events will serve to review the project’s results and to further strengthen cooperation between the state and civil society.
