On October 11, 2024, a training session was held at Chirag Plaza in Baku as part of the project “Improving Access to Public Services for Women and Girls with Disabilities in Baku, Ganja, Qusar, Quba, and Khachmaz.” The project aims to enhance the accessibility and quality of public services for women and girls with disabilities, particularly those from low-income families, including internally displaced persons and refugees. The training was delivered by professional trainer Gunel Ibrahim and brought together representatives of public institutions. The main objectives of the training included promoting inclusive attitudes towards women and girls with disabilities in public spaces, preventing violence against them, and improving the quality and accessibility of public services with the involvement of government, civil society, and private sector organizations. Throughout the day, participants engaged in interactive sessions, including presentations using slides, problem identification exercises, discussions on human physiognomy and communication strategies, and international standards of public speech and address. The session also focused on understanding the unique needs of women with disabilities and exploring actions that can positively influence statistical indicators concerning their participation in society. To assess the level of knowledge gained, participants completed pre- and post-training assessments. A consultation session was also held at the end of the training, during which individual feedback and questions were addressed. At the conclusion of the event, all participants received certificates of participation.
