
As part of the project “Improving Access to Public Services for Women and Girls with Disabilities in Baku, Ganja Cities, and the Districts of Qusar, Quba, and Khachmaz,” a training session was successfully conducted in Khachmaz district on September 24, 2024. The session took place at the Khachmaz Regional Branch Office of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA). The office’s modern design, comfortable environment, and alignment with contemporary standards sparked great interest among attendees. The training was conducted as a one-day session and delivered in a specially designed format by Ms. Gunel Ibrahim, professional trainer and Director of the Ethics Academy. The training aimed to improve the accessibility and quality of public services for women and girls with disabilities, foster more inclusive public attitudes, and help prevent violence in public spaces. These goals are being pursued through the collaborative involvement of government institutions, civil society organizations, and the private sector. The session primarily provided practical guidance to public sector employees and service personnel, focusing on professional ethical communication with women and girls with disabilities. Representatives of state institutions, businesspeople, and local entrepreneurs expressed strong appreciation for the session and emphasized the importance of organizing similar trainings on a regular basis for public sector staff.
NOTE:
The training’s high quality, psychological insight, and the trainer’s expertise were particularly well-received. The session is recognized as one of the project’s successful initiatives. Ms. Ibrahim’s strategic approach significantly contributed to raising awareness and prioritizing the issue of inclusion. The training’s visibility on social media platforms has further increased public engagement and recognition. To assess knowledge acquisition, pre- and post-training tests were administered. One-on-one consultations were also held at the end of the session.
All 26 participants were awarded certificates of participation.
The goal of the project is to improve accessibility and quality of public services for women and girls with disabilities from low-income families, including internally displaced families.
The project covers the cities of Baku, Ganja and the regions of Guba, Gusar, Khachmaz and is implemented during the period of September 2022 - August 2025 (36 months in total).
