The “Disabled Women Society” Public Union (DWS PU), with the financial support of the UN Trust Fund, continues its activities under the project “Improving Access of Women and Girls with Disabilities to Public Services in Baku, Ganja, Qusar, Quba, and Khachmaz districts.” On August 28, 2025, a Roundtable Meeting was held at the Writers’ House in Aghstafa district. The roundtable was dedicated to addressing the social problems faced by women and girls with disabilities. The event featured broad discussions on the rights of women and girls with disabilities in Aghstafa district, as well as issues related to psychological support, social protection, and employment opportunities. The main objective of the roundtable was to ensure equal access of women with disabilities to public services, to explore ways of combating violence, and to highlight the importance of eliminating discrimination. Participants of the Roundtable included Leyla Zeynalova, Chief Advisor of the Socio-Political and Humanitarian Affairs Department of the Aghstafa District Executive Authority; Isa Mammadov, Deputy Head of the same department and Coordinator for Religious Affairs; along with representatives of other state institutions of the district, municipalities, social service agencies, employment and tourism structures, educational and healthcare institutions, as well as NGOs and community members. During the event, initiatives were proposed for establishing new support groups aimed at solving the social problems of women with disabilities, strengthening networking, and sharing innovative ideas.
A total of 35 participants took part in the event.
