Tura Gurbanov, who was a TV presenter for many years and currently works as the head of the Public Relations Department of the State Medical-Social Expertise and Rehabilitation Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, provided the participants with in-depth information about the requirements regulated by legislation regarding persons with disabilities. He spoke about the key points that journalists should be aware of when speaking with them and carrying out their professional duties. He provided an explanation of the requirements of ethical behavior and the approaches envisaged in the project.
The purpose of today's event is to share the necessary information about projects related to the integration of people with disabilities in society, as well as the implementation of the behaviors shown to them. Let's discuss together the problems faced by people with disabilities and work to reintegrate them into society. We must prove that people with disabilities are not behind other members of society. They continuously integrate into society and are part of it. We must demonstrate to them that they are not at all behind society by utilizing both you journalists and non-governmental organizations, said Tural Gasimov.
The main goal of the training is to improve the attitude of the state, civil society, and private organizations toward women and girls with disabilities, prevent cases of violence against them, and ensure the quality and accessibility of public services.
Media representatives discussed the issues they ran into while producing reports, programs, and narratives about people with disabilities during the training. The main topic of conversation was how some state institutions treated people with disabilities with indifference. Zinyat Valiyeva, who participated in the event and has a disability, drew attention to some nuances in rehabilitation centers with the aim of ensuring accessibility for them.
Trainer Tural Gasimov, using his professional journalistic skills, professionally promoted communicative knowledge and skills to the heads of press services of institutions operating in social, healthcare, justice, employment, education, and law enforcement fields in the fields of behavior and service to women and girls with various types of disabilities and communication difficulties.
