The goal of the "Disabled Women's Society" Public Union (DWC PU) is to protect the rights of women and girls with disabilities within the framework of Azerbaijani and international law and to improve their social, psychological and physical health, and economic conditions. Since its establishment, the organization has been working to solve their problems by carrying out actions with the support of various projects and programs.

Since September 2022, the "Disabled Women's Society" Public Union, with the financial support of the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women, has been carrying out the project “Improving access of women and girls with disabilities to public services in Baku, Ganja, and Guba-Khachmaz region” in accordance with the action plan.
The overall goal of the project is to improve the accessibility and quality of public services for women and girls with disabilities from low-income families, including internally displaced families.
As envisaged in the project, a seminar about inadequate perception issues and violence against women and girls with disabilities and importance of supporting them by their communities was held in Baku on February 3-4, 2023. In the seminar, instruction was given on various public services useful for women and girls with disabilities and their family members, including the recognition of various forms of violence against them. The Coordination Council, consisting of 15 people, was formed with the participation of women with different categories of disabilities, their community members, and women from different areas of society working in various fields (education, health, social/economic, employment, entrepreneurship, human rights, domestic violence, empowerment, infrastructure, etc.) during the seminar.
The goal of the Coordination Council is coordinate activities within the project to assist on further increase of the accessibility and quality of public services for women and girls with disabilities.
As a result of the seminar, new developments in this area will be made by working with government agencies to improve the quality and accessibility of public services for women and girls with disabilities.
The project activity plan also includes the development and implementation of trainings and consultations on professional communication with women and girls with disabilities for managers and service personnel of public organizations, as well as non-governmental and business organizations, and preparation of guidelines on professional ethical communication with women and girls with disabilities.
